Calculator Setup


Step 1. Click sales to open the sub menu


2a. (Setup Equipment) Select the Equipment item in the submenu 


Plotter Setup
Equipment Name - The name of your device.
Width- The working area of your device.
Operational Cost- What it costs to operate this machine each hour. (eg. 50 dollars).
All numerical amounts are entered as is with no added symbols such as "$" , ' " ', etc. 
Decimals are accepted.


Large Format Inkjet Printer Setup
Equipment Name - The name of your device.
Width- The working area of your device.
# of Ink Cartridges- The quantity of cartridges accepted by the machine, not color sets but actual units.
Ink Cartridge Cost- The cost or average cost (if different) of one (1) ink cartridge.
Ink Cartridge Volume- The total ML volume of ALL cartridges. (eg. 8-400ml Cartridges = 3200

Decimals are accepted. 


2b. (Setup Materials)
Click Materials in the submenu


Click Create New to create a new {Laminate, Print Media / Cut Vinyl, Rigid Substrate, Mask or Edge Finishing Option}



Material Name- Internal or Technical Name used by Staff.
Width- The width of the material in inches (eg. 54).
Height- The total height of the material in inches (eg. 1800).
Alias Name- The name shown to the customer on the invoice.
Cost- The total cost of the material (excluding finishing options)
Finishing Options Cost is not total cost but cost per foot. This can be any service or finishing option you provide. (eg. Hemmed & Grommeted, Trimmed to Print, Jigsaw, Etc.)

Decimals are accepted. 


3. Editing your calculator settings
Click (estimates, Invoices or Proposals) in the submenu


Click the Create New Button 


Click the Calculator Icon just above the check mark in the line item dialoge.


Settings Description
All numerical amounts are entered as is with no added symbols such as "$" , ' " ', etc. 
Decimals are accepted. 

Remove Waste Charge- The calculator uses your Print size vs your Material Size selected to calculate a waste charge. This waste charge can be added into the job (if unchecked) or removed all together (if checked).

Remove Labor Charge- A charge for each job is generated based off of your Job size, Hourly Rate, Shop Speed and Minimum Labor Charge. This is automatically calculated (if unchecked) and can be removed (if checked).

Mining_labour_Charge- If the labor charge for a job is too low, the software will default to this number. You can decide what is the minimum labor you will charge for each job.

Threshold_progress- This slider value calculates how much of a rigid substrate you consider to be waste and calculates accordingly. 100 (being No waste) while 0 (being All waste). The slider is read as a percentage with the white space to the right of the green marker being considered waste of of a full sheet. It is up to you to consider how much of a board is calculated as waste.

Hourly Rate- This is the hourly charge required to keep your shop running. (eg. Hobby shop $50, Small Shop $150, Medium Shop $250, Large Shop $500, Etc.) Its best to follow some online tutorials or calculators to find out your shop hourly rate.

Shop Speed- This is a number representative of how fast your shop is. Measured in hours based off of how long it would take your current setup to complete 32 square feet of your most time intensive product. (eg. Laminated Decal Mounted on 12mm PVC can be completed in 1 hour or less.

Second Side Markup- Sign second sides are calculated based off of the total cost of the materials minus the rigid substrate. That final cost is then calculated against this number entered as a percentage. (eg. My second side markup is 60% of the total cost of the first side minus the board cost. 100% is full cost and you can go up to markup further. 

Media Profit_- Profit margin on square footage cost; these numbers are read as percentages and will need to be raised into the 200%, 300%,400% and 500% ranges to calculate effectively.

Laminate Profit_- Profit margin on square footage cost; these numbers are read as percentages and will need to be raised into the 200%, 300%,400% and 500% ranges to calculate effectively.

Waste Profit_- Waste is also marked up for profit if you choose. Profit margin on square footage cost; these numbers are read as percentages and will need to be raised into the 200%, 300%,400% and 500% ranges to calculate effectively. 

Substrate Profit- Profit margin on square footage cost. This is usually around 0-200% ranges for effective pricing.
Edge Finish Profit- Profit margin on square footage cost. This is usually around 0-200% ranges for effective pricing.
Mask Profit- Profit margin on square footage cost. This is usually around 0-200% ranges for effective pricing.
Ink Profit- Profit margin on ink ML cost. these numbers are read as percentages and will need to be raised into the 200%, 300%,400% and 500% ranges to calculate effectively. 




Click Confirm and you should be ready to start generating some calculations.
